Previously named Residuum, Canvas is the story of an artist struggling to find a coherent aesthetic and balance his love for art, a woman, and his brother. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo, it is an epistolary piece set in modern day Chicago.

Mackenzie Wiglesworth

Casey Chapman
CAST
Casey Chapman originally helms from South Carolina and moved to Chicago after receiving a degree in theatre performance. Chapman won the best actor award at the International Film Awards Berlin (IFAB) film festival and New York City Independent Film Festival in 2013 for his performance in "Mother's Milk" directed by Edward Pionke. Along with staring in Residuum, he can be seen in "City of Lust" which is currently on all VOD platforms. He just wrapped production on "Hell Town" by directed by award winning directors Steve Balderson and Elizabeth Spear. His short film "Esperanto" which he co-wrote and stared in played at the Bloomsbury Film Festival, and he can also be seen in the short film "Trupiak" by StudioBema productions. Chapman is also heavily active in the Chicago theatre scene performing in over 30 productions in 9 years. He has originated roles in 3 world premieres with the avant garde -European influenced Trap Door Theatre, as well as working with Profiles Theatre, Bailiwick, Oracle, Broken Compass, Black Elephant, marketing with Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, and more. He is currently attached to star in director Edward Pionke's third feature film "Asymptotes".

Michael Peters
Michael Peters is a Chicago-based actor, proud to make his feature film debut as Tom in RESIDUUM. As a stage actor he has appeared in dozens of theatrical productions, including Joseph Jefferson Award-winning turns in The Hypocrites' production of CABARET and THE HISTORY BOYS at TimeLine Theatre. He's also a proud co-founder and ensemble member of The New Colony, a devised theater company focusing on new works, and winner of Broadway in Chicago's Emerging Theater Award in 2011. Greg Callozzo
Mackenzie Wiglesworth's truthful performance as Kim in Mother's Milk won her 2 best actress nominations and 1 win. She moved from Kansas to Chicago to pursue theatre and film after completing her theatre degree at the University of Kansas. After Wiglesworth’s Chicago stage debut in Euphoria Productions’ Republic County, she was featured in the Chicago Filmmaker’s student short, “Who Will Save Us Now?”. Wiglesworth next worked with Toasty Woasty Productions on the web series, “The Doc Kings”. Other web series credits include, “Classholes” , and “Beeswax”.

Vanessa Hughes
Vanessa Hughes well repected and critcally acclaimed Chicago-based actress who is proud to be working on Esemplastic's second film Residuum. Vanessa made her first appearance with this wonderful company as Claude's mother in Mother's Milk. Selected stage credits include: Blithe Spirit (Violet Bradman), Six Dead Queens & An Inflatable Henry (Anne Boleyn), Comedy of Errors (Courtesan), Servant of Two Masters (Smeraldina), Perseus and Medusa (Dane), Twelfth Night (Olivia) and The Real Inspector Hound(Cynthia Muldoon) . She holds a BA from Valparaiso University, is a company member of Piccolo Theatre and is represented by BNB Chicago.

Greg Callozzo is a writer-performer based in Chicago, trained at Boise State University, DePaul University, the Second City Conservatory, iO and Annoyance. He's a member of Under the Gun Theater's performing ensemble, Sqeeze Play. He most recently appeared as the 1950s Host in Dream Theater Company's original show, Women! A Comedy (d/ J. Menekseoglu). Prior to that he played Gerard DePardieu in the absurdist work from the writing team of LoTruglio-Showalter-Wain, SEX a.k.a. Wieners and Boobs (d/ A. McMahon). He has directed pieces for Dream Theater Company and Under the Gun Theater. He loves his beautiful wife Susan and amazing kids Veronica and Peter for supporting him whenever "dad's doing another project."

Amy Rapp
Amy has been acting in Chicago for over a decade, with companies including TimeLine, InFusion, Profiles Theatre, Victory Gardens, Collaboraction, and New Leaf Theatre. Her film work includes commercials and several feature films, most recently the SAG feature “Tonight’s Special.” During and since graduating from The Theatre School at DePaul, Amy studies acting under Catherine Head and Peggy Roeder. Mark ViaFranco
An alumni of the Juilliard School he has landed and centralized himself in the Chicago theater and film community. He has preformed and understudied at the Goodman Theater, Victory Gardens Theater. He has been featured in several national commercials and stars in the feature length film "Heaven is Hell". Happy to have a cammio in Residuum he would like to thank the entire cast and crew.
